‘What I want more than anything else’ is launching this Saturday in Hull – a series of new artworks by Mark Titchner that explore young people’s’ responses to the question ‘what is it that you want more than anything else?’
This public art project has involved young individuals aged 13-25 from across Burnley, Wigan and Hull, working with the artist to make their thoughts and opinions visible in public spaces. For those living in Hull, messages written in the young people’s handwriting will be made into artworks exhibited at Hull Central Library that will take the form of screens, flags, bookmarks, a large exterior banner and a mural.
As part of our celebrations come down to the library for some light bites, refreshments and a chance to meet everyone involved in the project. We’ll be joined by popular Hull band, Bud Sugar; the artist and young people; the winner of the ‘text painting’ competition; and our competition judges. There’ll also be the chance to make your own banner in response to the question ‘what is it that you want more than anything else?’.

Studio Moe assisted with the exhibition design – but more on that soon!
