BBC. The King Who Invented Ballet and The King Dances. Digital Effects and Titles.

Digital Effects and Titles for BBC Doc The King Who Invented Ballet: Louis XIV and the Noble Art of Dance. The Ballet de la Nuit was first performed in the Louvre’s Salle du Petit Bourbon in 1653. We were tasked with creating digital effects that conjured up various aspects of the Ballet de la Nuit utlising characters and scenic designs from Louis XIV’s court masque, compiled in a single 139 leaf 17th century volume.

In addition the BBC filmed a contemporary performance choreographed by the programmes presenter David Bintley and performed by The Birmingham Royal Ballet. Title designs were complementary across both programmes.
