Tindersticks. Across Six Leap Years. Promo.
Tindersticks invited Studio Moe to film the recording of their Across Six Leap Years album at Abbey Road’s famous Studio 2. Inside the control room you are privy to the whole sound and the conversation, but within the studio the experience is very abstract; sounds are isolated, cut off from one another and you only hear half of any conversation. As the band moves from one song to another the deconstructed sounds begin to blend and evolve together into new and unlikely melodies. This promo film set out to capture this impression as instrument sections and vocal parts from different songs are blended into a new whole. As the studio’s artifical lights turn from day to night the promo captures a beautiful improvisation that was played during a break by David Boulter and Dan McKinna.
